ROYAL GALLERY
The Royal Gallery is not often used., but visiting heads of state have addressed both the Commons and the Lords from here. A banquet was held in this room for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. Huge masterpieces depicting the battles of Waterloo and Trafalgar, painted directly onto the stonework, dominate the 110ft-long walls of the gallery, while royal portraits, including those of the Queen and Queen Mother, stare down on visitors from up high.
