![]() ![]() Aerial shots of the area show how the train was split into two by the derailment. The drivers' cab and engine, front six carriages and buffet car continued along the track for at least 100 metres following the point of derailment. Eye witnesses have spoken of seeing wheels and parts of the roof of the buffet car scattered over this area. Track has been twisted and torn up and there is what appears to be a clear point of ground impact around 50 metres behind the buffet car. Further back near to the final three cars there is another wheel axle, thrown from a carriage. |
