Its roof was ripped off and the rear third of the carriage was torn almost clear away as it hit an electricity pylon. Four people, believed to have been already dining in the buffet car, lost their lives in these moments. Many more were injured. Passenger Stephen Morgan said: "I was walking towards the bar and heard a bang, then the train started swaying and it went over. I just held on for dear life." |
