Envisat is Europe's biggest and most complex environmental satellite. During its voyage into space, it will circle the Earth every 100 minutes, gathering data on climate change, pollution and depletion of the ozone layer. The satellite carries 10 scientific instruments, capable of monitoring the health of the Earth's oceans, ice caps, land and atmosphere. It will beam the information back to Earth and on to the internet.
