Most people are lucky if they see a solar eclipse just once in their lifetime. Any one spot on earth only experiences an eclipse every 400 years, although enthusiasts travel the world in pursuit of them. Another eclipse will pass over southern Zimbabwe in December 2002, but that will be during the rainy season, when there is a greater chance of cloudy skies.
