CAT'S EYE A dying star The Cat's Eye Nebula, NGC 6543, is one of the most complex nebulae ever seen. Hubble reveals concentric gas shells, jets of high-speed gas and unusual, shock-induced knots of gas. The nebula is a visual "fossil record" of the dynamics of a dying star and is estimated to be 1,000 years old. | |
