FORECAST FOR EUROPE

Europe's temperature in the 2080s
Summer temperatures could go up as much as 8°C in parts of Spain by the 2080s - with catastrophic consequences. Under this worst-case scenario, huge swathes of Mediterranean countries could turn to desert, triggering acute water shortages and crises in agriculture. The risk of forest fires would soar, and tourism would plummet.
