The design of the first Argos sites was very different from the award winning argos.co.uk of today.
Originally the site held a very limited range of high value products that could be delivered to the customer's home. This was then extended to cover a small range of gifts.
About 2 years ago products from promotional flyers were added to the site, bringing the number of products available on-line to around three thousand.
Sending out orders in the early days of the Argos web site was a manual process, but it is now automated. Realising the opportunities that the internet held, the site was re-launched in August 2000 with the full product range available and additional functionality.
