Plane stalls
Three miles from the airport, Concorde AF4590 is totally out of control and it rolls leftwards and begins to tumble with the nose still in the air. Eyewitness see it slide backwards as any last stability is lost. The aircraft falls towards the small Paris suburban town of Gonesse. The last entries in the transcript of the cockpit voice recorder are unclear. The investigator’s preliminary report simply records: Pilot: (Unclear, sounds of exertion). |
