The UK's festival season is underway - with fans, bands and DJs praying it won't rain. Here is BBC News Online's guide to this year's highlights.
Two years ago the British music festival was in poor shape, with cancellations wiping out many events and the daddy of all festivals, Glastonbury, being hit by appalling weather. But, buoyed by the continuing dominance of dance music, last year's sunny Glastonbury and a range of marketing deals, it is making a comeback in 2000. Critics say the line-ups are not varied enough, and sponsorship is getting in the way, but that won't matter to the thousands planning a night of music under the stars at these events across England and Scotland. |
