France Telecom
The French government still owns a controlling stake in the country's national operator. It has turned UK mobile operator Orange into its global brand, and, has pocketed 3G licences in France, the UK, Italy and Sweden. It is expected to have difficulty cutting its $60bn (45bn) debt burden.
