BT went on a spending binge for 3G licences and has woken up to a $45bn (£30bn) debt headache. The UK giant is finding it difficult to compete in its home market, and is now selling its overseas assets in Spain and Japan. Its management is in crisis, with a new chairman and it is asking the stock market for more funds.
