Killed: 64, including four flight attendants and two pilots and 125 in the Pentagon
Hijackers Suspected hijackers were named by the FBI as Khalid Al-Midhar, Majed Moqed, Nawaq Alhamzi, Salem Alhamzi and Hani Hanjour. The suspect who piloted the jet may have been Hanjour. Investigators believe the passengers were herded into the rear of the plane. The jet dropped off radar after the transponder in the cockpit was switched off. Air force jets were alerted - but they arrived after the plane had crashed. On board: Among the passengers was TV commentator Barbara Olson, wife of US Solicitor General Theodore Olson. She called her husband twice. She said the hijackers were armed with knives and boxcutters and she asked him, "What should I tell the pilot to do?" During the second call he told her a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center.
