Hello and welcome to BBC Xtra English!
Today Abdu and Reda talk about a new project to track pieces of rubbish around the world.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is one of the largest and most advanced science research institutes in the world.
A team from MIT is going to place electronic tags in 3000 pieces of rubbish in Seattle, New York and London.
These electronic tags will act as mobile phones with limited functionality.
They will be connected to a mobile phone network that can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
The pieces of rubbish will be monitored once they are thrown away to see where they end up.
Much of the rubbish that is thrown away by people every day could have been recycled.
This project will help show where that rubbish ends up, and how not recycling it will put it in places where it damages the environment.
It will also show people how destroying it can really affect the environment.
Maybe it will also make people think of ways to re-use things that they don't want instead of just throwing them away.
Do you think we throw too much rubbish away? Write to us in English!
