Hello and Welcome to BBC Xtra English!

Trafalgar Square is one of Britain's most famous landmarks.

It is named after the Battle of Trafalgar when the British Royal Navy beat the French and Spanish navies.

A statue of Admiral Nelson, the man who led the Royal Navy to victory, is on top of a very tall pillar in the middle of the square and is guarded by the statues of four lions.

The square also has other statues on three of its four corners.

These statues stand on wide pillars called plinths.

The fourth plinth is empty and for the next 100 days, an artist called Antony Gormley is using it for his latest work of art.

He is going to allow a different member of public to stand on it for one hour, every hour for 100 days.

So a total of 2400 people will have stood on the empty plinth and they can do anything they want.

One man stood on the plinth dressed as a cat and another was dancing.

Some people also campaigned for charities and the first woman to stand on the plinth tried to draw attention to a children's charity called the NSPCC.

Other people told the BBC that they will just sit on the plinth for an hour to think!

What would you do if you had the chance to stand on the plinth for one hour? Write to us in English!
