Hello and Welcome to BBC Xtra English!
Today Finn and Lilian talk about vegetarians.
A new study claims that vegetarians have a lower risk of getting cancer.
The study, published in the British Journal of Cancer, says that vegetarians are 12% less likely to develop cancer than meat eaters.
It also found that vegetarians are 45% less likely to develop cancer of the blood.
Naomi Allen, one of the authors of the study said that processed meat may increase the threat of cancer and that is why it seems vegetarians are less at risk.
But she also said that more time and study is needed to discover why vegetarians were less at risk.
This is because she still does not know what is in vegetables or fish that prevents cancer or what is in meat that might cause it.
We asked people in London if they were vegetarian because of health reasons.
None of them said they were and some said that they were vegetarian because they lost the taste for meat!
