Hello and Welcome to BBC Xtra English!
Today we're talking about one of the most famous buildings in London - Westminster Abbey.
There are plans for a major development of the Abbey.
The plans include adding a new structure on the roof. Inside the Abbey they hope to build a new education centre and a museum full of historic treasures.
There is currently an exhibition in the Abbey and information online about the proposed changes. The general public are being asked to make comments before anything goes ahead.
According to the Dean of Westminster Abbey, the Reverend John Hall, this would not be the first development of the building. He says that the Abbey was never actually completed and has had several additions over the last five hundred years.
Westminster Abbey is best known as the place where coronations and royal funerals take place. There are thirty monarchs buried there.
Do you think historic buildings should be changed or do you think they should stay as they are? Write to us in English!

I think the historic buildings should not change. Because the value of these historic building is how does it look like. I agree the development is important thing but not in that way change the face or a shape of historic buildings. And I think with continuously development people will forget the real shape of these buildings and become more like modern.
