He became a star as a child with the Jackson Five, then went solo in his teens, blending classic Motown soul with disco and funk.

His 1982 album, 'Thriller' was the biggest-seller of all time. But in later years, his musical achievements were often overshadowed by his bizarre lifestyle and eccentric behaviour.
