Hello and Welcome to BBC Xtra English!
Doug and Liliane look at the problem of dyslexia.
A recent report on the condition, which affects children's ability to learn to read, write and spell, has led to the British government promising additional money to support children with the condition.
In the past some teachers and schools have not taken dyslexia very seriously, and some people have even claimed that the condition doesn't exist.
The additional money will provide training for 4000 teachers who will be specialists in dyslexia. In addition, all teachers should be made aware of the problems of dyslexia, and how to deal with them.
Dyslexia can affect people from all abilities, and does not mean that the person is not intelligent.
However, many children with dyslexia fail to reach their potential because of basic problems with reading and writing. Other related symptoms include verbal memory and attention problems.
The charity Dyslexia Action hope that as a result of this report, children with dyslexia will have a more sympathetic and supportive environment at school.
