Welcome to BBC Xtra English.

Today John and Somaya talk about health information on the internet.

New research says that a lot of the information about health on the internet is selling false hope to people who are seriously ill and looking for a miracle cure.

A charity called Sense about Science says that vulnerable people are increasingly being exploited by the online promotion of these cures.

The BBC's Palab Ghosh reports that a lot of these cures are expensive and they are not assessed in medical trials.

They claim to offer cures that conventional medicine cannot offer and some cost thousands of dollars. The research found websites offering stem cell treatment for brain disorders but says that these treatments can be unreliable.

The BBC spoke with Daniella Muallem, an arthritis sufferer. She says that she felt exploited by websites offering cures that did not work for her.

Medical professionals in Britain are now calling for better regulation of these websites.

What do you think of these websites offering miracle cures? Should there be a code of conduct for website advertisers to avoid the exploitation of desperately ill people? Write to us in English.

ما رأيك في مواقع الإنترنت التي تبيع أدوية لعلاج الأمراض الخطيرة؟ هل يجب فرض الرقابة عليها لمنعها من استغلال المرضى؟ أكتب لنا بالإنجليزية.

Before thinking of cheating ill person, everyone should think of the day that may be he or one of his family members will be ill, if someone give them false hope how will he be feeling. I advise every one to counsel his physician before taking any kind of medicine.

Sameer, Stockholm, Sweden I believe those websites should be controlled and ethically they are not supposed to affect people's minds using terms such as magical and miracle cure of the disease.

Ghada, Cairo, Egypt
I think that not only the conventional cure could work, but also other methods could be effective. The problem is that these other methods are not tested. I think the solution can be done by introducing new scientific research on the other medicine methods.
