Today Amber and Safaa discuss the effects of caffeine on pregnant women.

The Food Standards Agency in the UK has advised pregnant women to reduce their caffeine intake.

Previously, they had said that pregnant women should not exceed 300mg of caffeine consumption a day.

Now, the new recommended limit is 200mg of caffeine per day.

That is the equivalent of 2 average-sized cups of coffee or 4 cups of tea.

This is important because tests have shown that pregnant women who take too much caffeine give birth to babies with a low birth weight.

But not everyone knows about this.

We asked women what they thought were acceptable levels of caffeine consumption.

Some said that drinking coffee in moderation was a good idea.

Others felt that these levels always changed and you could never really tell what was right.

They received mixed messages about health information.
