Today Anna and Sam talk about a controversial story happening in a famous Dubai hotel.

The Atlantis, considered by some as one of the biggest and best hotels in Dubai, has been having some bad luck.

Recently, there was a fire in the hotel lobby which caused massive disruption to the work going on there.

Now the hotel has made some people angry because one of its tourist attractions is a whale shark.

Whale sharks are an endangered species and are protected under an international convention.

Conservationists and environmentalists in Dubai have been organising a freedom campaign for the whale shark.

Public opinion against keeping the shark in captivity has also been increasing.

I think the whale should be released from captivity and return to its natural environment. The problem with Dubai is that they want to bring the whole world in one location...might be a good idea but should not impact the environment and the natural reserves of our planet. In the same time i am happy to hear that people are positively acting towards this story, which reflects a high level of maturity among the public.
