Welcome to
BBC Xtra English.
Today Louay and Cath are talking about
childbirth.
A study published this week says that women may feel less attached to their babies if they are born by Caesarean section.
According to this study, mothers were more emotionally responsive to the cries of babies after a natural birth.
The study, which involved 12 mothers, found that mothers who had a natural childbirth had more of a hormone called oxytocin.
According to this study, this hormone is important for the bonding between mother and baby.
Many mothers have a Caesarean section because of medical reasons or because they choose
this type of childbirth.
According to the World Health Organisation, more than 20% of all babies born in the UK are now delivered by Caesarian section. This is one of the highest rates in the world.
