Today, Alice and Sam talk about virtual war - war games on comptuers.

There are many popular computer games on the market which involve players taking part in virtual war. Players can pretend they are soldiers in battle - or they can plan a battle strategy.

There's a new variation of a computer game called 'Counter Strike'.

This is one of the most popular online war games which allows users to pretend they are fighting battles around the world. They have to use tactics to lead a team of other soldiers in battle.

On its website, 'Counter Strike' says it's a tactical action game. It says you have to compete against cunning computerised opponents.

Some online war games are very advanced in terms of graphics and special effects. One of the interesting things about 'Counter Strike' in particular, is that users can design their own levels based on events in real life. There are variations on the war in Iraq and Afghanistan for example.

In Iran, a team of game designers have created a level which allows players to sink a US oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz - where two fifth's of the world's globally traded oil is shipped.

The design team in Iran say it's a reaction to the computer games produced in the US which focus on missions against Iran. For example, games like - 'Assault on Iran' made by Kuma Reality games which revolves around a special forces mission to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities.
