The current crisis
in Lebanon has seen thousands of foreign nationals fleeing
the country, yet some have chosen to stay behind.
It has been a frightening experience for many including Zena El Khalil who travelled to London with her children, leaving her husband behind.
Zena had experienced war in Lebanon before, but for her children this was the first time.
Ghada Mitri has chosen to stay behind to support her elderly parentswho do not have the option of leaving the country.
She told the BBC that she could never leave them behind.
She is continuing to work in Beirut but finds it difficult to get used to the sounds of explosions all around her.
In London she might be safe like Zena, but she told the BBC "I'd be worried sick" about family and friends if she was not with them in Beirut. She tries to carry on with life as best she can.
If you are in Lebanon now, or have just fled the country, tell us about your experiences.
