Armed man robs a security guard
A security guard has been robbed by a man armed with a firearm outside a Berkshire shopping centre.

The man was walking towards his van outside Tesco at the Meadows shopping centre in Sandhurst on Thursday when a man approached him and demanded money.

The robber made off with a large sum of cash in a white Vauxhall Astra, driven by another man.

The car was later found abandoned outside a parade of shops on Yorktown Road, police said.

Det Sgt Neil Evans, of Thames Valley Police, said: "The robbery occurred during a busy time of the day, so it is possible that members of the public witnessed it or saw someone acting suspiciously.

"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a car matching this description prior to or after the robbery."
