Much Wenlock are hoping to mark their promotion into the Shropshire Premier League with a win over recently-relegated Wem on Saturday.
The Linden Field outfit won the Rollinson's Shropshire Cricket League last season thanks to 15 victories.
First-team captain Stuart Walters told BBC Radio Shropshire: "Hopefully we're looking for survival and then to build on it for the following year.
"We were looking to go up this season not last season."
Bomere Heath are preparing to play their second season in the top league after gaining promotion in 2006, while Quatt hope to build on their third-place finish last season.
The opening fixtures are: Albrighton v Quatt, Broseley v Bomere Heath, Madeley v Ludlow, Much Wenlock v Wem, Shelton v Newtown and Welshpool v Reman Services.
