David Barnes made a successful first defence of his title

David Barnes retained his British light-welterweight title with a unanimous points victory over Motherwell's Barry Morrison.
The Manchester southpaw made the busier start using his superior reach advantage to pick off Morrison.
Morrison, 28, came back into the fight in the middle rounds, also cutting Barnes in the fourth.
But Barnes, 27, ended the stronger, landing several fierce uppercuts on his Scottish opponent to earn the decision.
"I had an injured rib going into the fight so I had to beat him by using my boxing ability," said Barnes.
"I'll only get better and will improve after this fight."
