Fire at soft drinks factory site
Krystal Klear Lochwinnoch
The Lochwinnoch community campaigned to buy the site
The site of a former lemonade factory in Renfrewshire which villagers had hoped to buy and refurbish at a cost of £1m has gone on fire.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue was called to the Struthers site, where Krystal Klear soft drink was made, in Lochwinnoch at about 0830 GMT.

The extent of the damage to the building was not known.

The government had approved the community buyout but the firm which owns the site withdrew it from sale.
