Safe robbed in fuel station raid

A male member of staff at a filling station in Cornwall was forced into a back room during a robbery.

Two men entered the Jet filling station in Beatrice Terrace, Hayle, and forced the man into the room while they took cash from the safe.

The two then made off on foot across a recreation ground opposite.

The first offender was 6ft (1.83m) tall, with a dark green scarf around his face and hooded top. The second was shorter with a similar scarf.

Although the offenders made off on foot, it is not known if they had a vehicle nearby following the robbery between 2100 and 2115 BST on Monday, police said.

Officers have appealed for witnesses.
