An 80-year-old man who suffered serious injuries in a crash involving five vehicles on the A23, north of Brighton, earlier this month has died.
Anthony Dunkerley, from Hassocks, in West Sussex, had been driving a Volvo estate which was in collision with a large goods vehicle on 7 January.
It then crossed the central reservation where it collided with three vehicles.
The 51-year-old male driver of a Jaguar car, from Haywards Heath, was also taken to hospital.
The accident just after 1700 GMT led to the road being closed in both directions for about six hours, causing miles of traffic jams to build up.
