Widnes fans to hear bid details

Widnes Vikings are inviting season ticket holders to hear details of the club's application for a 2009 Super League licence.

Over 400 supporters are expected to attend the meeting at the Stobart Stadium on Thursday evening.

The bid comes less than six months after the club went into administration after they failed to win promotion.

New chairman Steve O'Connor said: "We have worked hard on the application and we are hopeful of a good result."
