Fresh appeal over woman's murder

Tracy Scott
Police are appealing for help to find Tracy's killer

Police investigating the "brutal murder" of a 41-year-old woman in Renfrewshire have made another appeal for information.

The body of Tracy Scott was found at her home on Waverley Road, Foxbar, Paisley, on 26 April at about 1535 BST.

She was last seen by members of her family three days before.

Det Ch Insp John Weir, who is leading the investigation said: "We are still trying to establish a motive for this horrific crime."

Ms Scott was last seen alive by her family at about 1730 BST on 23 April when she left their home in the Foxbar area.

Any little piece of information could prove vital to this investigation
Det Ch Insp John Weir, Strathclyde Police
Police would like to speak to anyone who saw her between that time and the discovery of her body.

Det Ch Insp Weir added: "Tracy was a well loved woman who had a close circle of family and friends.

"She was hard working and well liked by neighbours and colleagues.

"With her door facing onto the street, I am particularly keen to hear from passers-by who may have seen someone visiting her home or at her front door.

"Any little piece of information could prove vital to this investigation and I would urge members of the public to think carefully if they saw or heard anything that could assist us."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Strathclyde Police or Crimestoppers.
