Man arrested over serious assault

A 21-year-old man has been arrested following a serious assault in which a teenage girl and her father were hurt.

The incident happened outside the 15-year-old's home in the Quarrybank area of Edinburgh on Saturday 3 May.

The girl's 34-year-old father received a four-inch long cut to the head in the incident. Both were taken to hospital, along with the girl's mother.

It happened at 0500 BST after the family were woken by a disturbance outside their family home.
