Police have released an image of a distraction burglar who stole around £10,000 from the Leicestershire home of a 74-year-old man.

Two men had called at the house on Cotley Road in Mowmacre on 8 July just after 1015 BST.

One said he was from the water board and had to check the water pressure. The other went upstairs to search.

Det Con Danny Ibbotson described the burglary as "very distressing for the victim".

One suspect is described as white, aged 16-17, of medium build, around 5ft 5in tall with light, highlighted hair.

The other is also white, in his early 30s, between 5ft 2in and 5ft 9in, with greyish hair combed back and thinning on top.
