Sexual health services in Bristol have been integrated and are now under one roof following the £2.2m refurbishment of the Central Health Clinic.
The new centre includes treatment for sexually-transmitted infections, contraception and pregnancy advice.
The former clinic was based in portable buildings where walls were so thin doctors had to play music to maintain patient confidentiality.
The new facilities have been funded by the Department of Health.
Peter Greenhouse, consultant in sexual health said: "We are moving to the best facilities in the country and we are one of the first teaching hospital trusts to pursue a fully-integrated model for all aspects of sexual health care.
"Putting all sexual health services together will be more convenient for patients and the new facilities should offer a much more pleasant and appropriate environment for people to sort out their sensitive issues."
The consultant also talked of concern at the moment of a rising number in the cases of syphilis in Bristol.
Mr Greenhouse said: "We've actually seen a very substantial pick-up of syphilis in older women which is very worrying, so it's women and men of all ages that we want to see."
