Woman killed as car leaves road

A driver was killed when her car crashed on the B4059 on Tortworth Common in South Gloucestershire.

She appeared to have lost control on a bend, causing her vehicle to come off the road, overturn and land on its roof, police said.

The woman, believed to be in her 40s and from the Yate area, was declared dead at the scene.

The road was closed after the crash on Sunday night, while collision investigators examined the scene.
