Family speak after man's stabbing
Shaun Godfrey
Police say people who were in the Fulford pub may be witnesses
The family of a father of three found stabbed in Bristol said his death has "ripped the heart" out of their community.

Shaun Godfrey, 26, from Hartcliffe was found in Pavey Road. A post-mortem examination found he died from a single stab wound to the chest.

He leaves behind a partner and a one-year-old boy, plus two boys aged three and seven from previous partners.

Three men aged 18, 19, 20 have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The three are all from the Bristol area. A fourth man, aged 21, who was arrested has been released without charge.

Shaun had been looking forward to Christmas and spending time with his family, particularly his sons
Family statement

In a statement issued by the police, Mr Godfrey's family said: "His sudden and violent death on Friday night has ripped the heart out of his close-knit community.

"Shaun had been looking forward to Christmas and spending time with his family, particularly his sons.

"Shaun is dearly missed as a son, brother, Dad and partner."

Appealing for information about the incident, Det Ch Insp Dave McCallum said it had "outraged the people of Hartcliffe" and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

"We believe the deceased was in the Fulford pub shortly before the incident," he said.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the pub on Friday evening, especially anyone who took any images on mobile phones, cameras or camcorders."
