Elderly man is killed in accident
A pedestrian in his 80s has died after sustaining serious injuries when he was struck by a car in Wells, Somerset.

A Peugeot 306 was travelling on the A39 towards Bristol when it hit the pedestrian who was in the road near the traffic lights.

The injured man was taken to Bath's Royal United Hospital but died later.

Anyone who witnessed the accident which happened at 1115 BST on Mountery Road, at the junction with Milton Lane, is asked to call police.
