The M62 motorway in West Yorkshire was closed after a lorry carrying aerosols and bleach caught fire.

The westbound carriageway was completely shut between junction 25 for Brighouse and junction 24 for Ainley Top, causing long tailbacks.

Only one lane remained open on the eastbound carriageway.

West Yorkshire Fire Service sent six pumps to the scene and requested Environment Agency assistance because of "an excessive run-off of bleach".

West Yorkshire Police said later that the eastbound carriageway had fully reopened and two lanes of the westbound carriageway were now open to traffic.
