Youths remanded over stab murder

Two teenagers have appeared in court charged with the murder of a 17-year-old who was stabbed to death at a railway station.

Michael Brook, 18, and a 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, made a brief appearance at Batley and Dewsbury Magistrates' Court.

Ahmed Hassan was stabbed in the back near the entrance to Dewsbury railway station on Saturday.

The pair were remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court on Friday.

Brook, of St Mathews Road, Dewsbury, and the 17-year-old spoke only to confirm their personal details during Tuesday's five-minute hearing.

The 17-year-old is also charged with affray.

There was no application for bail.
