Elderly woman dies in car shunt
One woman died and another was seriously injured when a car collided with a stationary vehicle.

The crash happened in North Street Winkfield, near Bracknell, Berkshire, on Monday afternoon.

A blue Vauxhall Vectra collided with a stationary Nissan Cabstar which shunted forwards, trapping a pedestrian under the car.

An elderly passenger in the Vauxhall, who has not been named, died at the scene. The car driver was not injured.

The pedestrian, a woman in her fifties, sustained serious arm injuries.

She was taken to Wexham Park Hospital, Slough, where she underwent surgery, and her condition was described as stable.

North Street was closed between Lovel Road and Drift Road for several hours because of the incident.
