Woman robbed outside supermarket

A man has tried to snatch cash from a woman outside a supermarket in Wolverton, Milton Keynes.

The woman was withdrawing money from a cash point at the Netto store on Friday morning when she became aware of a man standing behind her.

As she removed the cash, the man reached forward and tried to take it.

During a brief struggle all the notes were torn in half before the suspect ran off in the direction of Church Street, said police.

Police want to hear from any witnesses.

The robber is described as white, 6ft 2in tall, aged between 35 and 40 years and of medium build.

He had short, collar length brown hair, was wearing a long dark blue jacket with a hood and light blue jeans.

The man was also seen with another man prior to the incident and may have been speaking in an eastern European language.
