Blaze at racetrack medical centre

Firefighters were called to a blaze at a medical centre at the Santa Pod Raceway in Bedfordshire.

Crews from Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire were called to the fire in the early hours of the morning.

Firefighters had to fight the fire from a distance because of fears that gas cylinders could be somewhere inside the building.

The fire was extinguished by 1000 BST. The building, which belonged to the ambulance service, was badly damaged.
