A man found guilty of three murders has been convicted of attempting to kill a mother as she shielded her toddler son.
Miran Thakrar, 24, of no fixed address, was convicted on Wednesday of three murders at St Albans Crown Court.
Keith Cowell, 52, his son Matthew, 17, and Tony Dulieu, 33, from Essex, were killed at the Cowells' Bishop's Stortford house on 28 August 2007.
Now Thakrar has been found guilty of attempting to murder Clare Evans, who was also in the house.
He was also found guilty of possessing a firearm and a further count of attempted murder is still being considered by the jury.
The jury has yet to return a verdict on Kevan Thakrar, 21, of Lomond Way, Stevenage, who denies three counts of murder and two attempted murders.
The court has been adjourned and the jury will continue to consider its verdict on Friday.
The jury also found Miran Thakrar's girlfriend, Amanda Dansie, 21, of High Street, Buntingford, Hertfordshire, and Yilay Tufensoy, 21, of Nags Head Road, Enfield, north London, guilty of assisting an offender. Their bail was immediately revoked.
Jay Thakrar, 25, was acquitted of the same charge.
