Pair deny murdering man in park

A man and a youth denied murdering a 20-year-old man who was stabbed in a Hertfordshire park on 21 April when they appeared in court.

Christopher Faulkner of Brook Drive in Stevenage was stabbed at the King George V playing area in the town.

He later died in hospital from a single stab wound to his chest.

Sahan Yeter, 18, of Jessop Road, Stevenage, faced St Albans Crown Court with a 15-year-old co-defendant. Both were remanded in custody.

The trial date will be fixed later this year.

The 15-year-old pleaded guilty to robbing Mr Faulkner on the night of 21 April but Mr Yeter has pleaded not guilty to this charge.

James Trebble, 18, of Stafford Street, Norwich, pleaded guilty to robbing Mr Faulkner while another 15-year-old pleaded not guilty.

Both were released on bail and Mr Trebble, who works as a scaffolder, will be sentenced at the end of the trial.
