Mugger attacks 69-year-old woman

A man who assaulted a 69-year-old woman and tried to grab her necklace is being sought by police.

The attempted robbery happened in Biscot Road, Luton, at lunchtime on Monday when the woman was grabbed by an man.

Another woman, who police want to trace, assisted the victim and the man ran off empty-handed, in the direction of Leagrave Road.

The woman was shaken by what happened but was not injured.

Witnesses are asked to call Bedfordshire Police.

The attacker was described as aged in his early 20s, wearing a white T-shirt with writing on the front of it and grey trousers.

He was about 5ft 10in and had short black hair.
