Men questioned in drugs crackdown

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs after 16 bags of suspected heroin were found in a car in a drugs crackdown in Luton.

The Class A drugs, with a street value of £2,200, were seized after police stopped a suspicious car in Dallow Road, a police spokesman said.

Officers also arrested a man over drugs offences at a Somersby Close property.

A fourth man was arrested at his home in Dourdans Road, on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

The arrests were made as Bedfordshire Police embarked on an intensive week of drug operations, enforcement activity and education programmes as part of the national 'Tackling Drugs Week' between 19 and 23 May.
