Signal failure causes rail delays

Rail passengers are facing delays for the second day running due to signalling problems between Milton Keynes and Northampton.

There are delays, alterations and cancellations on London Midland train services, and buses are being laid on between Northampton and Coventry.

Virgin train services between Rugby and Euston Station are also affected.

On Thursday, travellers were stranded for up to two hours after a signal failure near Milton Keynes.

And a power failure in the Milton Keynes area last week disrupted travel for thousands of rail passengers.

National Express train services are also suspended between Cambridge and London Liverpool Street due to a fatality on the line.
