Man is charged with sex offences

A man has been charged with a number of sexual offences, including rape and sexual assault.

David Kirton, 55, of Kimbolton Crescent in Hertfordshire, was arrested by Essex Police officers over the weekend, a force spokeswoman said.

She added that the charges followed an allegation by a teenager from the Harlow area of Essex.

Mr Kirton was due to appear before magistrates in Harlow later in the day, police said.
